Darrell Williams known as D.Williams has been singing for a long time and he is not tired yet! As a matter of fact, he is just about to devote his life to the gospel ministry in song. He has been singing most of his life. He began singing in the church choir at in Alabama.
Darrell was inspired by his father who raised him in the admonition of God and that remains his goal for the world. His new CD release is dedicated to the memory of his beloved father and Brother the late Mr. Willie James Williams Sr. and Raynard Williams.
The Man the Ledgend the Myth
I grew up in the south listening to the Blues but I would turn the blues tune and words into a gospel song. We all know that the blues roots steemed from old southern gospel songs so it was an easy transition. I always love to sing about my Lord and Savior and still do.
I decided to wright a blues song and so I called a few friends and collaborated on my hot single 'Pony Ride'. They all liked it so I went into the studio and laid the tracks and the rest is history.
I like to dress western style with my cowboy hat and boots and large western belt bukle. This is my normal Sunday church service or night on the town and dinner outfit.
I grew up around horses and to this day I have a stable of horses. I ride my horses in local and national parades and people get a joy out of seeing the horses dance and prance throughout the parade.
Many inner city kids don't see "black" folks riding horses so it kind of opens up their eyes and mind that you can do whatever is in your mind. It would be a waste for young minds to be "pigeon holed" by society into thinking that they are limited to steorotypical information induced by there current enviroment. This sparked the idea of constructing a song about horse riding though the meaning in the song, is left up to the imagination. LOL
My Music Project
My first 2 blues singles are just a start of a full CD coming out in a few months. I am overwhelmed at the fans that are requesting copies of the Pony Ride and Sneaky Woman before I released the songs. I pretty much have the songs for the full CD written but just needs some "polish" put on them and schedule some studio time.
My venture into the world of blues is perhaps a turning point in my life but no matter what I still have my faith in God and as a performer I want my fans to be happy and I will give them a great show. The music industry has changed as far as getting the product to market and with music streaming services hardly any body buy a hard copy songs anymore but I have loyal fans that support my music projects.
